Mindfulness As a Way of Being
Please note that as of 11/11/19 the retreat is half full. Please register soon.
Are you ready to commit time for self-care and personal growth in 2020? Please join us for our second annual women’s retreat on the beautiful Island of Cuttyhunk.
Imagine 3 nights and 4 days relaxing into the sound of waves breaking upon the shore. Visualize your self moving through a historic, oceanside inn that renders a feeling of stepping back in time. Come together with like minded souls to drop out of the pull of daily life and drop in to a greater connection to self & Self.
This retreat will be an immersion into yogic lifestyle.
Integrating:
- Yoga Asana (postures),
- Pranayama (breath exercises)
- Mudra (hand gestures to support reflection/meditation)
- Meditation
- Spiritual study (reading, reflection & conversation)
- Self Inquiry
- Karma Yoga (selfless service).
- Special evening programs (to be determined)
Mornings will begin with group sadhana (practice) adapted to the needs of the group with a focus on connecting deeply with one’s personal truth. Fruit, granola and yoghurt will be available for those needing sustenance prior to brunch. Brunch, prepared by our personal chef, Haley Pollock (www.holistictrick.com) will be followed with time for walks, reflection and journaling. Each day retreat participants will be asked to practice Karma Yoga by assisting Haley in the kitchen prior to meals . The afternoon will include a facilitated group experience, personal time to engage with others, walk the beach & rest. Prior to dinner, we will enjoy another practice of Yoga, meditation and/or Yoga Nidra. After dinner there will be time for tea and sharing as well as our evening programs.
Our chef, Haley, and ellen are planning for balanced healthy, vegetarian meals. Please inform us, upon registration, if you have any allergies or special dietary needs. Haley is nutrition savvy and holds a degree in nutritional science and will fulfill reasonable requests.

Please note: I encourage you to visit www.avaloncuttyhunk.com to get a feel for the inn. It has a charming old world feel that may not be for everyone. Look through the gallery to see the bedrooms and the common spaces. Note that we are renting the whole Inn, there will not be other guests. Read through the links under “your stay” to understand the nuances of this very unique place. Some rooms have private baths and some do not. Some baths have showers, some only clawfoot tubs. There is a newly updated bathroom on the first floor with a large shower that all are welcome to use. I can not guarantee what room you will have. Please l know that double rooms have a queen or king size bed that you will be sharing with your roommate. There are limited portable cots available. We will be on island at the very start of the Cuttyhunk season. This means that the limited number of restaurants (a pizza place and a clam shack) and the single gift shop will likely be closed. It also means that the Island will be even quieter than usual and we can truly UNHOOK and retreat. Namaste.
